On Jan 11, 2023 Connor rang the bell to signify the end of his leukemia treatment. 838 days from diagnosis to this day. Three surgeries, 3 endoscopies, 3 Internal radiology procedures, Pancreatitis, a Pseudocyst, and insulin dependent diabetes. He had 17 spinal taps, 9 different types of chemo or cancer fighting drugs, and many more drugs to offset the side effects of the chemo. 63 nights in the hospital, at least a third of that in the PICU. He spent at least 3 months of 2021 doing nothing more than barely existing, the nausea was overwhelming.
This past year, 2022, thankfully was much easier. The final phase was kinder to him and he had fewer side effects. He remains dependent on drugs to manage his diabetes, and continues to wear a glucose monitor but we remain hopeful that this is a short term solution. He will continue to have blood work checked on a regular basis for the next 4 years to confirm that the cancer is gone.
Connor (and all of us) are ready to put this behind us. We had a great party on Jan 14th and my Mum (Penny), my sister (Lisa), Kirk’s parents (Maureen and Gary), and his brother (Todd) all travelled from Canada to help us celebrate. Friends, family, and so many of our supporting village came to help us honour the fight that Connor has won!!
Connor has already moved to Vancouver, Canada to start the rest of his life! He’s currently staying with relatives and looking for work as he waits for school acceptances. Missing him already - but so happy for him!!
Thank you all again for all your support!! My village is amazing!
This is just so awesome for all of you Erin. I will keep Connor in my prayers for staying free of this horrible disease
And now onwards for everyone! I look forward to seeing Connor when he makes a trip to the island
Hugs and love ❤️ love ❤️

You have been to hell and back, fought and defeated the enemy and don't EVER need to visit again! As much as my stomach sank with your first email, my spirits are soaring today!
Hope Connor is enjoying Vancouver and you are all busy and happy in New Jersey.
